Sunday lunch ...

We turned left toward Eulo where the Blackgate Road re-joined the bitumen Bulloo Development Road.

We drove past the white rock (without stopping) and pulled over in some shade about 20km or so before Eulo.

I'd forgotten our red picnic case but fortunately had some emergency picnic equipment on hand!  A hundred or so flies joined us for our picnic, some bush flies as well as some annoying march flies - so our ham/salad wraps were thoroughly checked before any bites taken!

Vaughan found the flies a bit too stressful, so hid out in the back of Elmer for a while.  Erin wasn't coping well with the flies either.

She found an empty can of insect repellent before hunting further and finding a full can.

Although she showed Vaughan her fly-free legs it took a while before he came out of the truck!   In spite of the overly friendly flies, it was a nice spot.  As we sat quietly, small cicadas began singing in the trees and there were a few little birds also.
