Stepping out of routine ...

We returned from our Big Loop road-trip a month ago and have caught up with various missions since.  We've had a few outings but have mainly been in our usual routine.

It was a nice day yesterday, so Nick and I packed a picnic and headed out to investigate a local-ish gravitational anomaly.  Yes, well.  No luck with that, though we saw some pretty countryside along the way.

We really enjoyed spending time at the Venman Bushland National Park, which was new to us.  We had our picnic and then did a shorter, 2.5km walk.

There were a couple of stepping-stone creek crossings, which were fun - even though I didn't fall into the water as Nick hoped!

There weren't many people about (and many free tables), so we left our picnic gear in situ and had another cuppa after walking - supervised by a very pretty Red-necked  Wallaby.

"Life. Be in it."  This was the slogan of a Victorian health campaign that later became national in the late 70s (when I was in primary school).  I didn't particularly like the ads but the phrase must have stuck in my subconscious.  I don't see it as an exercise prompt but more a reminder to get outside and enjoy the world around us. It's easy to explore while on holidays and everything is new - but just as important to have adventures when home again.
