The sun was setting as we drove out to King's Tree. The site is where the sole survivor of the expedition, John King, was found. It was a pretty time to visit, in the grey-mauve twilight.
While we've been staying at Yowah, the local newspaper has published a story detailing how an Aboriginal clan (currently living in Cunnamulla) can trace their family tree back to John King. He fathered a child during the three-month period he was being cared for by the Yandruwandha tribe near Innamincka.
