Causeway pause ...

After viewing Burke's Grave, we headed back into Innamincka.

It was late in the day but the flies were still thick in the air and we decided there was no point preparing dinner until dark, when they had retired for the night!

We drove through the town, to cross the Cooper Creek causeway.  There were so many pelicans! Amazing!

We spent some time standing by the water watching the birds and quite a few large tortoises, which we now know as the Cooper Creek variety (as they are only found in this area).
