Red Earth at White Cliffs ...

White Cliffs is opal country, known for white seam opal and "pineapples"

(The link will take you to some detailed info about these special formations and the Red Earth Opal gallery).

Earlier in the day, Nick tried a new fossicking technique (recommended by our neighbours).

This meant he stretched out on Bandit's folding mesh bed, to get a much closer look at the ground.

Of course, Bandit wasn't greatly concerned about his bed being borrowed - cos he prefers sleeping on ours!

I wandered about taking pics of the various flowers and countryside.

We did a mine tour in the afternoon, where we learned some new stuff, which was neat, cos we've done a number of mine tours over the years.

Bandit was allowed to join us under ground for our Red Earth mine tour.

He behaved so wonderfully well the whole time, as did the other little dog on tour - though both were super-keen to exit at the end of the 2.5 hours!

What a great day!
