Quick (hot) chocolate fix!

I've mentioned our instant hot chocolate mix before.  I've been making it for a few years now, having adapted the recipe from Hillbilly Housewife. 

(My version uses 2 cups each of full-cream and skim milk powder - and only one cup of sugar). 


Originally I made the mix for our camping trips but it is handy to have in our picnic beverage suitcase also - ie one thermos of hot water gives hot drink options for everyone.  When I am nicely organised, I measure out the required amounts into zip-lock bags.  If I am less organised, I pack a small container and measure into cups on-site.  Of course, marshmallows are optional but definitely appreciated!

It's definitely getting colder at Hamby Home(in)stead, so I made a large jar of hot chocolate mix for the pantry.  Vaughan has enjoyed several mugs (with marshmallows) over the past few days.  No doubt he will appreciate having a hot chocolate option when we are next picnicking!
