Although this blog has evolved over the past 10 years or so, it generally relates to our budget holidays and various outdoor adventures or topics associated with those pursuits. When not camping the majority of our breaks are self-catered stays in lower-cost cabin accommodation. We've enjoyed several excellent holidays in more flash surroundings but they are the exception rather than the rule. Nick and I recently celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary - and decided to splurge. We stayed two nights in a heritage-listed boutique hotel, with lots of dining out at lovely cafes and restaurants. There was no menu-planning or washing up. It was wonderful!
